We are partnering with the Greenville County Recreation Department to participate in a litter clean up as well as installing some fish attractors at Oak Grove Lake. Our students will work with SCDNR to build some fish attractors to install in the lake at this community service event.

Our afterschool club will be taking a trip to fish for bass and bream at a local pond in Hickory Tavern.

A workshop open to students in 1st-12th grades. We will cover the basics of bass fishing including different lures and techniques. Workshop will include instruction and fishing at Oak Grove Lake. We have partnered with Hiedelberg Materials to host a free fishing outing for up to 70 youth. Participants will receive a rod and reel as well as a tackle kit. Lunch is provided as well. We will spend time going over some basics of fishing and then spend time with the youth trying to catch some fish. We are so thankful for the partnership with Hiedelberg Materials and their support of getting more youth involved in the sport of fishing.

We volunteer at this awesome event every year. Over 100 youth are invited from the community and given a rod and reel and get fish for bream and prizes. There is also a speaker who shares the gospel message of Jesus with everyone in attendance. We are so thankful for our partnership with Danny Cobb and the Fully Equipped Fishing Ministry.

We will kick off our third year of The Bridge Fishing Outreach Youth Anglers program at Rudolph Gordon School. We look forward to amazing school year teaching and getting youth involved in the sport of fishing. We will have monthly meetings, online fishing tournaments, and fishing outings for the 5th through 8th graders.

The Bridge Fishing Outreach will be set up to serve at The Miracle Hill Ministries Ninja Kids Event in Simpsonville, SC. We will have some fun fishing games for kids to participate in and try to win prizes. We look forward to an awesome event meeting new friends in the community, supporting Miracle Hill Ministries, and sharing about what we do in the community.

A fun trip down the road to Clarks Hill Reservoir in McCormick County to spend the day with some youth. We donated some fishing equipment (donated to us from Bass Pro Shops/Cabelas) to a group of youth trying to get a high school fishing team going. We were also able to take them out on the water to have a “practice” tournament to get them experience in the competitive environment. We had prizes for the contestants and had a cook out afterwards to spend some extra time with the boys. We are working with a local bass fishing club to set up another practice tournament as well as to help raise funds for their team. Special “Thanks” to Robert Shingler who single handedly planned and set up the event as well as coordinated the tournament and cooked the hot dogs. His passion for the sport of fishing and serving youth through the sport challenges me to do more.

What a special day! We were able to partner with Heidelberg Materials for an amazing event at Oak Grove Lake in Greenville, SC. We were able to host youth from a local group home as well as foster families for a fun day of fishing. Heidelberg Materials were such an amazing partner, and they provided Chick Fil A for lunch, as well as a t shirt, rod, reel and tackle kit for each participant. We had close to thirty kids come out and it was a blessing to share our passion for fishing and our desire to love and serve some kids that have and do face unbelievable challenges every day. God is Good!

A road trip up to Cherokee, NC with our students to fish for trout the pristine waters of the streams in and around Cherokee, NC. We will leave early and stop for breakfast, have a picnic (hopefully to include some fresh trout), and spend some time visiting around the Cherokee Indian Reservation.

We will be taking our Youth Club to TNT Fishing Lake to fish for carp and catfish. We invite all families out for a day fishing for catfish. We will also enjoy a picnic and some fellowship with our students, families, and sponsors.
